June 14, 15   Dressage Clinic with Henk Glijn
International Dressage Trainer
VDRC   Henk rode in Holland from the age of 7 with the Dutch Olympic coach, Mr. P. Oothout. After immigrating to Canada, Henk trained several horses to FEI level, including "Zodiac" with whom he placed third at the Canadian Grand Prix Championships. Some of you might have been lucky enough to see Henk perform with Anky van Grunsven at Spruce Meadows during The Masters. Today, Henk trains and gives clinics throughout Europe and North America.

We are very privileged indeed to have Henk visit our club for a dressage clinic on June 14 and 15, 2008.

Spread the word and come and brush up on your competition skills. Riders of all levels are welcome, from Novice to Grand Prix. Henk does not use a microphone but auditors are welcome and will learn plenty. Priority booking is offered to VDRC members so don't delay as this will be a very popular clinic and spaces are limited.

  Equestrian Yoga Clinic
with Inner Light Yoga
  Inner Light
Yoga Studio

Equestrian Yoga Clinic June 29, 2008

Join us for an equestrian specific yoga class. Focus will be on breath-work, followed by stretching, particularly of the neck and shoulders, releasing tension. This is followed by both asana (the practice and experience of the postures) and pranayama (various breathing techniques that when integrated with the postures mobilize and energize the body). Depending on the level of the class, and the time of day, the focus of the postures may be restorative, invigorating, or both. Classes conclude with a focused relaxation. This allows the students time to rest deeply, and to give their bodies the opportunity to integrate the physical experiences introduced throughout the class.

The classes at Inner Light Yoga Studio are infused with a spirit of exploration and discovery. Students are encouraged to practice at their own pace. The teachers challenge and support each student, taking into consideration her or his individual energy and physical abilities and limitations. The faculty is open to questions, comments and requests from students both during and after class. This makes for a lively, inspiring atmosphere.
